Ellen DeGeneres breaks record for most People's Choice Awards in history

Ellen DeGeneres broke the record for the most decorated celebrity in the 43-year history of the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night when she took home three more awards.

The comedian brought her total haul over the years to 20 trophies following her wins for Favorite Daytime TV Show Host ("The Ellen DeGeneres Show"), Favorite Comedic Collaboration ("Britney Spears' Mall Mischief") and Favorite Animated Movie Voice ("Finding Dory").

Naturally, her friend Justin Timberlake presented DeGeneres with her new trophies, and she made fun of him for being "very under dressed" when she got up to the podium.

"This is amazing," she gushed to the screaming audience. "17, I get; 18, sure; 19, I can see that; but 20 is outrageous"

"This is really something that means more to me than [other awards], because it comes from the people," she continued. "You are the people who are responsible for me being up here."

In her hilarious acceptance speech, DeGeneres also talked about wishing she ate mashed potatoes more often and that she wishes that animals were organized enough to vote for the show's awards because she likes animals more than people. But, alas, they are not.

The star and her wife, "Scandal" actress Portia De Rossi, didn't have time to walk the red carpet before the show, because of a traffic jam in Los Angeles.
