A member of the Kennedy clan who once dated pop starlet Taylor Swift was arrested outside an Aspen nightclub early Thursday.
John Conor Kennedy, the grandson of Robert Kennedy, was allegedly involved in a scuffle outside the ritzy ski town's Bootsy Bellows nightclub at about 1:40 a.m.
According to Kennedy, as well as his father Robert Kennedy Jr., the fight occurred after Conor demanded an apology from a group of men he claimed called his friend a homophobic slur.
The elder Kennedy told The Aspen Times that his son initially received an apology, however he said some of the clubgoers again used the slur against Conor's friend as they left the establishment.
When Conor engaged with the group once again, the fight reportedly broke out.
Police say Kennedy and another man were fighting in the street and rolling on the ground when officers tried to separate them. Officers said in a report that they saw Kennedy punch a man in the head four or five times.
Kennedy also allegedly struggled against an officer as he tried to restrain him before they fell into a snowbank.
"Kennedy and I fell back onto the snow bank on the south side of (Hyman Avenue) where Kennedy attempted to pull away from me and stand up," the officer wrote in his report. "I held onto Kennedy's arms and rolled him over with assistance from a bystander on to his stomach."
The report said Conor apologized to the officer.

In a statement citing "multiple witnesses," Kennedy's attorney placed the blame on the other men, at least two of whom he said attacked Kennedy after he "rebuked" them for their use of the homophobic slur.
Aspen attorneys Matt Ferguson and Ryan Kalamaya will reportedly represent Kennedy on a disorderly conduct citation. A message left with Kalamaya's office was not immediately returned Friday morning.
A court appearance is set for February 22.
Conor Kennedy last made headlines in 2012 when he was just 18 and reportedly dating Taylor Swift, who is four years his senior.
Photos of the couple briefly graced tabloid covers before the romance fizzled after just a few months.
