Avril Lavigne tells Mark Zuckerberg to stop bullying Nickelback

Avril Lavigne called out Mark Zuckerberg for teasing Nickelback in his new Jarvis video.

Earlier this week the Facebook CEO unveiled his new artificial intelligence assistant, named Jarvis and voiced by Morgan Freeman, in a series of videos posted to his social media network. In one of the videos promoting the A.I. assistant, Zuckerberg asks Freeman to play good Nickelback songs. "I'm sorry Mark, I can't do that. There are no good Nickelback songs," Freeman's voice replies.

Lavigne, who separated from Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger after two years of marriage in September 2015, took to Twitter to criticize Zuckerberg for the insult to the Canadian band. She began her post by saying, "Dear @facebook," and continued, "When you have a voice like yours, you may want to consider being more responsible with promoting bullying, especially given what's going on in the world today."

She added that Zuckerberg is allowed his musical opinion but his "jab at Nickelback is in poor taste" and added a hashtag saying the Nickelback jokes are old and the band's sold more than 50 million albums.

Though split, Lavigne and Kroeger remain friendly.
