Gigi Hadid is going on a social media detox

Gigi Hadid, card-carrying Insta-girl, is taking leave from the world of social media.

During Reebok's #PerfectNever Revolution panel on Wednesday, the brand spokesmodel sat down with Lena Dunham, Zoe Kravitz and Ruby Rose to discuss fitness, health and her planned Instagram absence.

"I'm taking a month off, actually, during New Years," said the 21-year-old. However, rather than pull a full Kendall Jenner — who snuffed out her account without warning, thus traumatizing fans — she says she's just taking a bit of a holiday season breather.

"I'm not deleting my account. I'm just taking the apps off my phone," she clarified. "It's empowering, not just for people in the spotlight, for everyone. At the end of the day, I'm choosing what I'm showing you. A lot of the world feels so entitled to other peoples' lives, which is so crazy."

She continued, "I'm going to take a break when I feel like it, and when I come back and share it with you, if you want to be supportive and still follow me, that's great. But, if you're going to be upset that I need to be human for a month, than maybe I don't want your follow anyway."

But don't fret, Hadid fans, we're sure little sis Bella Hadid will post plenty of holiday snaps to help you keep up with the supermodel fam during the holidays.
