Watch The Weeknd heat up with 'Starboy' at the 2016 AMAs

Updated

The Weeknd has been on a roll with electrifying awards show performances, and on Sunday night (Nov. 20), he brought his swagger to the 2016 American Music Awards with his Top 10 smash "Starboy."

Beginning his performance shrouded in an icy cocoon, Abel Tesfaye soon emerged and got the crowd involved with bopping and singing along to the moody hit. The Weeknd has performed "Starboy" at awards ceremonies before -- his MTV EMAs showcase was particularly inspired -- but he may have outdone himself at the AMAs.

"Starboy," which features Daft Punk (who, sadly, were not in attendance at the AMAs), has reached No. 2 on the Hot 100 chart. Starboy, the full-length follow-up to his Grammy-nominated Beauty Behind the Madness album, is due out this Friday.
