Jake Harris, a former star of the reality TV series Deadliest Catch, was savagely beaten by a couple that he had entrusted to give him a ride home over the weekend, according to his brother.

Jake Harris' brother, Cornelia Marie Captain Josh Harris, took to Facebook to talk about the attack and identify people who he said left Jake in the intensive care unit with a cracked skull.

"I have some terrible news today. My brother was jumped last night and some individuals decided to beat him pretty good. I've located these people," Josh said in a video he posted to Facebook.

He then showed the Facebook profiles of the two people he believes are responsible for beating Jake and tossing him out of the moving vehicle on the highway. Josh said he believes the couple have committed similar crimes in the past.

"My brother is bleeding out of his brain currently," he added. "They threw him on the side of the freeway and left him for dead. He's got some brain damage. Luckily the people who were behind the vehicle that he got thrown out off ended up seeing my brother and called 911."

Police confirmed to that Jake was assaulted Saturday evening and they responded to the call on the Mukilteo Speedway at about 8 p.m.

Police said he was alert and awake when they found him and confirmed he was put into the ICU.

"We are working with the victim and with the family trying to find out what happened. It is a robbery investigation," said Aaron Snell, the Everett Police Department's public information officer.

"We are vetting the information. We would hate to jump the gun," Snell said, adding that police have received multiple tips since Josh posted the video.

Josh said in his video that the couple responsible for his brother's ordeal are drug addicts and says he hopes his brother will recover.

"They have serious issues," said Josh. "He's pretty messed up. Hopefully one day we will get him back fishing again."

In 2010, Jake and Josh Harris' father, Phil Harris, the captain of the Cornelia Marie, died after suffering a massive stroke.

An episode of Deadliest Catch captured Phil Harris' last moments.

"We wish him the best with his recovery," a Discovery spokesperson told
