'SNL': Kate McKinnon's Clinton performs Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah'

Updated

Saturday Night Live addressed Donald Trump's new role as president-elect in its own way in its first episode since election night.

In honor of Leonard Cohen, who passed away earlier this week, Kate McKinnon kicked off the episode in character as Hillary Clinton at the piano, singing one of his most famous tunes, "Hallelujah."

As a poet, songwriter and singer, Cohen had great influence over the music world, with evocative material that was admired and frequently recorded by others. In some cases they even became hits, like "Hallelujah" for the late Jeff Buckley.
