'Scandal' season 6 premiere date, trailer unveiled (Watch)

TGIT is on its way back — and yes, that means "Scandal" is finally returning.

ABC announced that January 19 is the premiere date for "Scandal" Season 6, plus the back part of "Grey's Anatomy" and "How To Get Away With Murder's" current seasons.

Both "Grey's Anatomy" and "How To Get Away With Murder" have their midseason fall finales on November 17, and then go on a two-month hiatus, then returning with Shondaland's TGIT block on Jan. 19.

"Scandal" has been on break since Season 5 ended this past May, as its sixth season was atypically pushed to midseason, due to star Kerry Washington's pregnancy.

In the first Season 6 trailer for "Scandal," the presidential election results are in. In case you forgot all the way back to last season, the two candidates are Mellie (Bellamy Young) and Frankie Vargas (Ricardo Chavira), who are running with their veeps Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) and Cyrus (Jeff Perry).
