OnlyOnAOL: How 'Rocky Horror' sexually liberated Victoria Justice

Dammit, Janet.

Yes, that's Victoria Justice we're talking about, who plays the wide-eyed innocent title character at the heart of the original "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and the reimagining, airing on Fox on Thursday.

"I heard that they were remaking it and I told my agent I wanted to be a part of it somehow. I auditioned," says Justice, of how she got the part.

The two-hour Fox version focuses on lovebirds Janet and Brad (Ryan McCartan) and their happenstance meeting with Frank-N-Furter (Laverne Cox). What winds up happening is a total transformation. It's based on the 1975 film that has since become a total classic.

"I saw it for the first time when I was in fifth grade. I just thought it was the weirdest and coolest thing ever. I went to my first midnight showing when I was 15," says Justice.

In person, Justice is poised and elegant, unlike the bumblingly unsophisticated Janet (originally played by Susan Sarandon).

"What do I see of myself in Janet? I feel like I'm not quite as fearful as she is and naïve as she is. But I do think it's kind of funny that she does start off as very innocent and virginal and goes through this sexual awakening," she says.

But yet, they do have some similarities.

"In a funny way, it kind of reflects myself in some sorts of ways. I started off on Nickelodeon. I was very innocent and had this whole image. Now to be doing a movie where I'm in my bra and a slip for 80 percent – it's my sexual awakening, you could say," she says.

As for that sexy attire? "It was liberating. Are you kidding me? It was so much fun," says Justice.

For her, the entire experience was transformative.

"I definitely took, for sure, the knowledge that singing and acting together make me the happiest. I took a break from doing music and focused more on drama. That definitely makes me really happy. I took away a lot of great friendships. The cast and I hang out to this day," she says.

Indeed, she and costar Christina Milian were planning their own viewing party.

Let's do that time warp again.
