Craig Morgan's son Jerry Greer died from accidental drowning, autopsy reveals



Jerry Greer, the late son of country music veteran Craig Morgan, lost his life due to due to accidental drowning, autopsy results have confirmed.

A toxicology report reveals that Greer tested positive for marijuana and he had a low level of alcohol in his system at the time of his death this summer, according to the Tennessean.

Greer was 19-years-old when he went missing July 10 while tubing behind a boat with friends at Kentucky Lake in Tennessee.

The teen came off his tube and did not surface. The Humphreys County Sheriff's Department recovered his body the following evening, still wearing a life jacket. Greer had recently graduated from Dickson County High School where he was a football star.

Morgan later spoke of the tragedy as "the hardest thing we have ever had to endure as a family."

The autopsy was conducted July 12 by Humphreys County Assistant Medical Examiner Erin Carney.
