Grier may only be 16, but the internet sensation has amassed a following of millions. And with a few new projects on the horizon, Hayes is gearing up to gain even more.

Can you talk a bit about your new show on Hulu, 'Freakish'?
Basically, it's about this whole group of kids that somehow stumble up in the same detention class on a Saturday. The next thing you know, a chemical plant in the city explodes and we get trapped in the high school. And because of the explosion, these 'freaks' were created and try to break into the high school and all this crazy stuff happens.
I play a very funny character called Noodle Nelson and I'm very happy about that and for my first time acting, my character is named after a food.

You have a comedy background, but this show is more of a horror show. How did you prepare for this role?
I just kind of went in swinging. That's what I do always in life. But I really didn't have any acting experience before doing 'Freakish'. I worked with a few acting coaches before. But once the camera came on, it just felt right and it all flowed and was good.

Do you want to explore acting more?
Absolutely. I've obviously done social media but I'm trying to build a bridge from social media into the TV and film industry. I feel like right now, there are so many kids who are known on social media and it's just like, 'So what are you going to do after this?' And I'm always thinking about that -- and I think this is a good step in the right direction.

What do you hope audiences take away from this series?
I really want to know their thoughts on it and what they thought of my role. But I really hope they enjoy it because we put so much work in it and I just really hope they take away at least a smile or a laugh.

You have a new book that's coming out in November called 'Hollywood Days with Hayes'. Can you talk a bit about it?
Yeah, the book comes out November 15 and I'm really excited about it because we worked really hard on it. It took a lot of time to get the ideas right. Basically, the book is a printed version of the app called 'Episode' I have coming out. It's a really cool technology where when you read it through the app, the book is personalized for you. It's like you are a character in this book, too. I think the fans are going to really enjoy it.

What was it like to be at the creative helm of this?
Crazy! I never in my life thought in my life that I would be doing this, but I'm so thankful for it and blessed that I would be able to do it. I've worked on this so much more than you think -- it's been in the works for about eight months. I wanted to make sure it would come out right.

What are you most excited about for the book's release?
I'm really excited for the book signings. I get to go to these book stores throughout the country and I get to meet fans and signs their copies and just hang out. So I'm super pumped for that because it's an interactive experience and I can get their feedback in person.
