Bruno Mars' '24k Magic' debuts at No. 1 on Billboard + Twitter trending 140 Chart

Four years after the release of his last album, Unorthodox Jukebox, Bruno Mars is back with "24k Magic," the first single from his follow-up LP (due Nov. 18), and the track quickly debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart.

The Trending 140 chart measures the real-time acceleration of conversation around artists and their music on Twitter.

"24k Magic" first appeared on the chart Thursday night after Mars released the song's music video on YouTube. It remained the top song overnight, more than 12 hours after its release.

The video, which features Mars partying, drinking and playing roulette in Las Vegas, has clocked nearly 2 million global views on YouTube since its release.

Despite the four-year gap between album releases, Mars has stayed busy. He headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2014 and was featured on Mark Ronson's monster hit "Uptown Funk!," which spent 14 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went on to become the top song on the 2015 year-end Hot 100.

Mars will be the musical guest on NBC's Saturday Night Live next weekend (Oct. 15).
