'Today' show tours Prince's Paisley park estate

On Wednesday's (Oct. 5) Today Show, Al Roker gave viewers a first look inside Prince's Paisley Park home and studio. The tour comes ahead of the Minnesota estate opening to the public as a museum and many of the rooms have been preserved as Prince left them before he passed away in April. The handwritten notes he left behind while he worked on a yet-to-be-released jazz album are on display in his studio.

A Purple Rain room features the keyboard, guitar, wardrobe and motorcycle from Prince's famous movie and album. Paisley Park's archivist Angie Marchese said Prince had all of his clothing custom-made and she has archived the 6,000 pieces. "We do have an amazing inventory because Prince saved everything," said Marchese.

The musician's sisters, who were also on hand for the tour, said they feel Prince's spirit in Paisley Park. "He did plan it to be a museum. Everything is strategically placed," said Sharon Nelson. "It's truly Prince. He thought all this through," added Norrine Nelson. "He had a vision and he finished it."
