New York City is one of those places that every one wants to be, at least one point in their lifetime.

Whether it's growing up in your 20's, trying to figure out dating, bills, and have a real job, or it's your late 30's and you're just trying to get by, day-by-day, it seems as though NYC has been the setting for many of your favorite TV shows to date.

We've decided to take a look at some of the top TV shows that have been set in New York, and truly use the city as not only a setting, but a character itself. Below is our list for the 9 best TV shows set in NYC!

9.) Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
At a time we we're unsure if we'd ever get another creative outlet for Tina Fey, she comes off with Netflix's "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." Kimmy, along with her roommate Titus, his landlord Lillian, and the Upper East Side's fanciest, Jaqueline Voorhes, it's quintessential New York.

Self-deprecating comedian Louie C.K. is absolutely hilarious in his self-titled FX show about a newly single father who's stand-up is as funny as his PTA meetings in New York City.

7.) Mad Men
Don Draper and Joan Holloway make 1960's New York look so sophisticated, and we'd be remiss to say we didn't want to time travel back in time.

Lena Dunham's critically acclaimed HBO series takes a look at four girls in their early 20's, just trying have a dating life, a personal life, and a a successful job...things every college grad dreams about.

Created by Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, "Broad City" is another hilarious depiction of two 20-somethings trying to navigate New York, all while screaming "YAS KWEEN" along the way.

4.) 30 Rock
Birthed from the genius mind of Tina Fey, "30 Rock" was Fey's idea to take a look at what it's like to run a TV show for NBC...much like her time on a little show called "Saturday Night Live."

While it may not be entirely realistic for six friends to constantly hang out in a coffee shop while they all claim they maintain jobs, "Friends" is the perfect comfort food for a great laugh.

If you were to name one show the best for dating and understanding men, it would be "Sex and the City." Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte are the original girl squad we all wish we could be a part of.

1.) Seinfeld
You really cannot get any more New York City than "Seinfeld." The sheer comic musings of Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer are enough to make you want to move to the Upper West Side, and visit the Soup Nazi for a cup of crab bisque.
