John Legend to guest-star as Frederick Douglass in WGN's Underground

Way back in 2005, John Legend dipped his toe into TV with the show American Dreams, when he played the role of Stevie Wonder. Now, he's the executive producer of the drama Underground on WGN, and he's taken the liberty of casting himself as another historical figure, Frederick Douglass.

According to Variety, Legend said he had previously been "thinking about guest starring in the upcoming season, but had no immediate plans to do so," but it looks like his plans have changed. Season two of the show is currently being filmed in Atlanta, and you can catch Legend guest-starring as the legend in early 2017.
