OnlyOnAOL: How to get Britney Spears' smoky VMAs look

Well, glory me.
Britney Spears, who just released her album "Glory," was back to her stunning form at Sunday's VMAs, held at Madison Square Garden. And we talked to her makeup artist, Melanie Inglessis, about her red-carpet and on-stage looks.
"She trusts the people she works it. She lets us do our thing. She likes a smoky eye. I wanted to show her gorgeous skin. She's quite tan. And I wanted to give her a nude lip. I pumped up the eyes for the performances. She looks great. Her body is bangin.' I didn't want to outshine any of that," says Inglessis. Working with Spears is no different from Inglessis' other clients, like Olivia Wilde. "It's pretty straightforward. Like most of my clients, I get there about two hours ahead of time. We have a little fun," she says.
However, Spears isn't your average ingenue. "She has pretty stunning features. I think she's so iconic. She's the first pop princess. She's a goddess. People were happy to see her last night," says Inglessis.
No kidding. Here's what would surprise you about Spears, says Inglessis: "She's quite shy. She's very relatable. She's America's sweetheart. People can relate to her beauty."
Her go-to for Spears is simple. "A really good foundation that's long-lasting. A chubby smoky kohl eye in brown. I try to stay away from black. And a nude lip. I do the lip with the pencil and I fill it in. I do like a little gloss."
Here's how she did Spears up for the VMAs:
First, she cleaned Spears' face with So Fresh and So Clean Cucumber cleansing wipes. One skin was clean, Inglessis used Westmore Beauty Lasting Effects Coverage Perfector Foundation in Tan. She then used the Westmore Beauty One Step Brow Gel in Light and used Westmore Beauty Eye Effects Red Carpet Lashes in Black, 2 coats top and 1 coat bottom. She added Westmore Lasting Effects Body Coverage in Golden Radiance to Spears' body. Hence that glow.
