'Good Morning America' to add live audience segment upon Michael Strahan's debut

"Good Morning America" is making some serious changes once Michael Strahan makes his debut.

The long-running morning show will add a live audience during its final half hour once Strahan debuts on the show Sept. 6. The hosts of the show will move to a newly constructed set for that half hour, and will appear in front of approximately 100 audience members.

Strahan shocked the TV world earlier this year when it was announced he would leave "Live! with Kelly and Michael" for a more prominent role on "GMA." Ripa was reportedly upset about the situation and skipped a few shows until things were worked out behind the scenes.

She was widely reported to be furious with the way the situation was handled by executives at ABC, where she has worked both on the soap "All My Children" and "Live."

However, the two were all smiles when Strahan signed off from "Live" back in May. "We have incredible staff here, from the producers, to the staff, to the crew, they make sure we;re always prepared and we come out here and put on a great show for you guys," Strahan said at the time. "We love you. We appreciate you. I love you. And to Kelly, you are the best."
