'Fuller House' star Jodie Sweetin says show has 'given up' on Olsen twins cameo

"Fuller House" fans should not expect to see the Olsen twins pop up in Season 2, according to Jodie Sweetin.

The actress, who plays Stephanie Tanner, said there doesn't seem to be any hope left for a return of the twins, who jointly played her little sister, Michelle.

"We've tried everything," Sweetin told Entertainment Tonight. "I think we've kinda given up." But Sweetin did say that Season 2 will feature a number of other celebrity cameos.

"We have a lot," she said. "A lot of people that have been talked about for like 30 years are going to be on the show. It's going to be a lot of fun."

The original "Full House" went off the air in 1995 after an eight-season run. 21 years later, Netflix's 13-episode first season centers on recently widowed D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure) moving back into her childhood home in San Francisco to raise three sons with the help of sister Stephanie (Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy (Andrea Garber), with most of the original cast returning in some form or fashion.

The show opened to largely negative reviews, with TheWrap's Ned Ehrbar writing, "All in all, it's unclear who the audience for this series is supposed to be or why Netflix went ahead with 'Fuller House,' aside from the fact that it sounds like something grown-ups who grew up on the show would be into — in theory, at least."
