Jessica Alba addressed a very tough topic at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday -- gun violence.

The Honest Company Founder walked onto the stage with the surviving siblings, cousins and sons and daughters of victims of recent gun violence around the United States and delivered a somber speech about the tragedy of gun violence. Family members from the Sandy Hook school shooting, the Orlando Pulse Nightclub shooting, San Bernadino medical facility shooting, Aurora movie theater shooting, and Alton Sterling's son, were all present on stage.

Alba introduced each loved one and spoke about the people they lost, before urging the teen audience to take a stand against gun violence and asking them to think about "what's going on."

"Tonight we stand together with these teens, united in a call for peace and an end to this violence. Now more than ever we need to stop, feel and ask what's going on," Alba said.

Ne-Yo echoed Alba's message with a moving rendition of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" as a photo slideshow of recent shooting victims played behind him.

At the conclusion of Ne-Yo's performance, an emotional Alba was brought to tears as she asked the audience to think about the lives of the young people on stage who were affected by the gun violence.

"We need to come together as one," Ne-Yo said. "If you feel as we do that we have to do better, we need you all to stand up right now and take out your phones. Take a picture of these courageous teens asking for the violence to stop and then post with the hashtag #StopTheViolence."

Twitter exploded with teens sharing tweets about #StopTheViolence.
