Yes, guys appreciate a smooth, supple visage. In the last decade, men have embraced exfoliators, face creams and even concealer. "You see men buy beard oils and anti-aging eye creams," says Chris Salgardo, the author of "Manmade: The Essential Skincare & Grooming Reference for Every Man" and the head of Kiehl's.

In his estimate, there's one guy who wins the skincare Oscar.

"I was always impressed with David Beckham's overall grooming. He has it together. His hair is on point. You can tell he's not doing botox or fillers. He's gracefully aging. He looks handsome," says Salgardo. "He's paid attention to this and it's paid off for him."

Celebs in general don't ignore their skin. "They're lucky. They have all this access to great products and top talent," says Salgardo. "You have to take care of your skin. It comes with the territory."

Potions and lotions aside, Kiehl's Since 1851 is launching a new PSA, called "The Cure Is In Your Hands," featuring Whoopi Goldberg and Dita Von Teese to benefit amfAR and culminating in the 7th annual LifeRide, an 11-day celebrity fundraising motorcycle ride. "I feel honored to lead this again. This year we start in our hometown of New York City," says Salgardo.

His go-to products for every day: sunscreen, a good cleanser, and and eye cream. "Get in there. Don't be afraid," he says. "I'm a California native. Living in the northeast, your skin changes all the time because of the seasons. I tell people all the time to pay attention to what your skin needs. It's ok to have a variety of products."
