If you've ever watched reality television, you might be curious about what goes on behind the scenes. Often, you may think that what's going on is not "reality" or unscripted at all, but contrived by the show's producers.

Luckily, inquisitive Reddit users thought the same thing, and started a thread on Ask Reddit, a group where one can ask a question to Reddit at large and receive answers from others. This thread in particular called out to people on reality TV to ask: what's fake and what's real?

The highest comment has to do with "sob stories," a common trope on reality shows. It seems that every contestant has one-- but this Reddit user claims that producers draw it out of them:

Unfortunately, the consensus seemed to prove most people's speculations true: no matter what, reality shows are at least a bit scripted. No one is complete "reality." While this is disappointing, it won't likely deter us from watching.
