Grammy Awards 2017: John Legend, Metallica, Carrie Underwood & Keith Urban to perform


Soul great John Legend, metal legends Metallica and country stars Carrie Underwoodand Keith Urban will perform at next month's 59th annual Grammy Awards.

The first batch of Grammy performers are regulars on stage and at the podium of the music industry's biggest night. They own 29 career Grammy Awards between them, and there are chances for more to come.

Metallica's James Hetfield and Lars Ulrichcould expand on the veteran rockers' eight previous wins with a nomination for best rock song ("Hardwired"), while seven-time winner Underwood is up for best country solo performance ("Church Bells").

And Urban, a four-time Grammy winner, collected another brace of nominations ahead of this year's gala (best country album for Ripcord and best country solo performance for "Blue Ain't Your Color").

The field this year is led by Beyoncé with 9 nominations, while Drake, Rihannaand Kanye West are close behind with 8 nominations each.

The Late Late Show leader James Corden will host the 2017 Grammys, which take place Feb. 12 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The event will be beamed live on the CBS Television Network. Additional performers will be announced in due course.
