Caitlyn Jenner breaks her silence on why she's attending Donald Trump's inauguration

Caitlyn Jenner caused a stir last week when it was revealed that she would be attending Donald Trump's inauguration in Washington, DC, this weekend, and she took to Twitter on Wednesday to briefly explain her decision.

"Republicans need help understanding LGBTQ issues," she tweeted along with a gay pride flag emoji. "And I'm here to help!"

Though it's unclear how the reality TV star, who has made it her mission to be an outspoken advocate for transgender rights, plans to help, it might calm some of her fans that she isn't there simply to support the president-elect.

That being said, the "I Am Cait" star was a huge critic of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton throughout the 2016 election and expressed her support of Trump numerous times.

In an interview with STAT last year, Jenner said that "Trump seems to be very much for women. He seems very much behind the LGBT community because of what happened in North Carolina with the bathroom issue."
