Selena Gomez and The Weeknd seen making out in new photos -- are they dating?

Selena Gomez and The Weekend can't keep their hands to themselves.

In photos obtained by TMZ, the two singers were seen making out outside of Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica on Tuesday night.

Though it's unclear how long the pair has been hanging out, the pictures indicate that they are very much comfortable with one another. Gomez, who has previously been linked to Justin Bieber and One Direction star Niall Horan, is seen wrapping her arms around the "Can't Feel My Face" singer in the photos.

According to an Us Weekly source, the pair have been spending time together working on new music and it "must have turned romantic" between them in the studio.

The Weeknd broke up with model Bella Hadid in early November after a year and a half together. Hadid's sister, Gigi, is considered to be good friends with Gomez. They're both part of an extended friend group, which has famously been referred to as Taylor Swift's Squad.

Gomez spent the second half of 2016 laying low. Struggling with anxiety, the singer checked in and out of a rehab facility in Tennessee after cutting her Revival World Tour short at the end of the summer. She made her grand return at the American Music Awards where she delivered a much-lauded speech while accepting the award for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist.

UPDATE: New feud alert? As first reported by Elle, Bella Hadid quietly unfollowed Selena Gomez on Instagram in the hours after the photos of ex The Weeknd making out with Gomez leaked online.
