Best Bites: 4 ways to spice up hot chocolate

The days are getting cooler, which means winter is coming. And what's better in the chilly winter than warm and rich cup of hot chocolate? Cozy up to these delicious twists on our favorite cold-weather drink -- they're not just for kids!

Ingredients

  • Whole milk

  • Chocolate chips

  • Peppermint extract

  • Whipped cream

  • Peppermint pieces

  • Dark chocolate

  • Cinnamon

  • Cayenne

  • Vanilla Ice cream

  • Cinnamon stick

  • Milk chocolate

  • Peanut butter

  • Maple syrup

  • Cocoa powder

  • Pumpkin spice

  • Caramel

Directions

Peppermint:

  1. Pour 1 cup whole milk into a pan and boil.

  2. Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips.

  3. Add a dash of peppermint extract.

  4. Stir, stir, stir!

  5. Pour into a mug.

  6. Top hot chocolate with whipped cream and peppermint pieces.

  7. Enjoy!

Spicy:

  1. Pour 1 cup whole milk into a pan and boil.

  2. Chop 5 oz dark chocolate and add into the pan.

  3. Add a dash of cinnamon and cayenne.

  4. Stir, stir, stir!

  5. Pour into a mug and top with vanilla ice cream.

  6. Add a cinnamon stick for a kick.

  7. Enjoy!

Peanut Butter:

  1. Pour 1 cup whole milk into a pan and boil.

  2. Chop 4 oz milk chocolate and add to pan.

  3. Add 1/4 peanut butter.

  4. Mix, mix, mix!

  5. Pour into a mug and add whipped cream and shaved chocolate.

  6. Enjoy!

Pumpkin:

  1. Pour 1/2 cup whole milk into a pan and boil.

  2. Pour 1 tbsp maple syrup and a dash of cocoa powder.

  3. Sprinkle in 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice

  4. Mix, mix, mix!

  5. Pour into a mug.

  6. Top with marshmallows and a drizzle of caramel.

  7. Enjoy!
