Is it rude to wash dishes before Thanksgiving guests leave?

Okay, so the Internet has a little bit of a debate going on regarding Thanksgiving. Is it rude to start washing dishes while your guests are still there?

On one side, some people may not be able to relax until they've tamed the beast that is cooking and serving up a big Thanksgiving dinner.

And then of course, the longer you wait, the harder it will be to get some of the stains off the plates and pots -- and after you've eaten like that, who wants to stay up late or miss the games going on post dinner? Not me.

Now, on the other side, if you're just getting up and washing dishes while people are still there, it can make people feel like you're trying to kick them out.

So what do you think is it rude? We don't think there's really a right or wrong answer. It depends on mess, amount of guests and time.

Put it this way, if your guests bring up politics, it's time to start washing dishes.
