Jennifer Lopez recalls the 'big' style statement she made right before giving birth to twins

Even when she's about to go into labor, Jennifer Lopez still makes sure to look chic.

The 47-year-old star poses in a series of sexy, colorful styles in the December issue of Harper's Bazaar, while modeling her new shoe line with Giuseppe Zanotti.

Lopez has been turning heads with her bold fashion choices for decades and shares that even when she was en route to the hospital to give birth to her and ex-husband Marc Anthony's twins, Emme and Max, she was making a fierce style statement. "I think of the day my kids were born. It was in the middle of a snowstorm, and I wore this big white fur coat," she recalls. "I was huge, and it was the only coat that would fit me."

Lopez says a lot of her clothes have sentimental value. "If you hear a song from a certain time and you're like, 'Oh, my God!,' it takes you back to that period in your life," she explains. "I do the same thing with my closet. I walk in and I see a hat or a pair of shoes or a coat, and I go, 'Wow! I remember I was wearing that the day this happened, or I was walking down the street; or I heard this or my mom said that, or my boyfriend.'"

While she's switched up her look quite a bit over the years, Lopez does have some style staples. "I love hoops, jeans, boots, and sparkle," she says. "If you look back to my first red-carpet days, it's short, sparkly Versace dresses. I know everybody knows the green jungle dress, but I'm more about Versace's chain mail and Swarovski crystal dresses, which I've been doing since back then."

Lopez appears to have passed down her love of fashion to her 8-year-old daughter, Emme. "She loves fashion. She was wearing my shoes as soon as she started walking," Lopez notes. "She's actually learning to sew already. Who knows? We may have a little designer on our hands."

Last June, Lopez opened up to ET about expanding her family, and possibly breaking out that "big white fur coat" again. "I wish I could have a lot more [kids]," she confessed. "I wish. I don't know if it's in the cards for me, but it's something I would love to do."
