Woman sues Zara after finding dead rat sewn into dress

According to a new lawsuit, a woman's dress from Zara came with an accessory she didn't pay for.

Cailey Fiesel, 23, bought two dresses from the Greenwich, Conn. location of the store in July 2016.

She then hung them in her closet, as usual.

Fiesel decided to wear one of the nice dresses for her first day at a new job in August 2016.

The lawsuit states that she noticed a "disturbingly pungent" odor. It seemed to follow her wherever she went.

As the day progressed, she thought she felt a loose string rubbing against her leg. She tried to locate what was bothering her, and what she found is depicted in disturbing black and white court photos:

In the images, you can see what appears to be a dead rodent protruding from the seam.

She immediately jumped in shock when she realized "it was not a string that was rubbing against her leg but was instead a leg rubbing against her leg." She quickly removed the dress.

"It's disturbing," said Adam Deutsch, who represents Fiesel. "It clearly comes from a lack of oversight in terms of what they're putting on their shelves."

A spokesperson from Zara told Daily News the company is "aware of the suit, and we are investigating the matter further."

"Zara USA has stringent health and safety standards, and we are committed to ensuring that all of our products meet these rigorous requirements," a Zara spokesman added.

It's unclear how the rat was sewn into the dress, but Fiesel is seeking unspecified damages for the "damages and injuries she has suffered," according to the lawsuit.
