Alabama football coach was unaware that we had an election this week

Updated

While athletes and coaches across the nation share their thoughts regarding the election of Donald Trump, one prominent college football coach claims he didn't know the election was happening this week.

During Nick Saban's press conference on Wednesday, a reporter asked if he'd like to give any comments on the election.

Instead of focusing on one of the most polarizing events of the modern day, the reigning national champions were focused on football instead. Saban did offer this statement that proved he doesn't really live under a rock:

"I want what's best for our country. I'm not sure I can figure that out. I want what's best for people who want to improve the quality of their life. I hope whoever our leader is, he will certainly do all that he can do to make our country safe and improve the quality of life of a lot of the people that we have in our country. And I don't think I'm qualified to determine who that should be."
