The one term everyone was Googling as Trump won the election

As Hillary Clinton's chances of shattering the glass ceiling slipped from her grasp, with Donald Trump pulling in state wins, voters keeping a close eye on the election began furiously googling this key term, "Canada immigration."

The search term spiked at 11pm eastern time as Trump took control of crucial states, Ohio, Florida and North Carolina.

In fact, so many people flooded the Canadian government's website that the site crashed.

The government hasn't confirmed whether the site's takedown was indeed caused by a surge of panicked Americans, but the threat of dismayed voters moving to Canada isn't new.

The good news is that the country seems very welcoming. Canada's official twitter celebrates immigrants, the website for Cape Breton openly welcomes Trump haters and Air Canada beckons Americans to "test drive Canada."

As many celebrities have also threatened with the ultimatum to move out of the country facing a Trump presidency, such as Miley Cyrus, Lena Dunham, Cher and Samuel L. Jackson, you might want to book a ticket now before they're all gone.
