A. The Presidential Cabinet, or Cabinet of the United States, is the group of the most senior appointed positions under the executive branch of the United States. It consists mostly of officials that are heads of federal executive departments. The president appoints each position in the cabinet and the Senate can either confirm or reject the nomination. Secretary of state is one of highest cabinet positions currently held by John Kerry. Other prominent cabinet officials include secretary of the treasury, secretary of defense, the attorney general and secretary of the interior.
