She's spunky. She's smart. And here are five things you need to know about Giselle Eisenberg, who plays youngster Sophia Hughes on the CBS hit "Life in Pieces," airing Thursdays. (Watch our interview with her TV mom Betsy Brandt above).

1. She's all about a potty mouth, for a good cause. "On set we have this thing called the swear pot. I sometimes hear stuff I should not. Whenever I hear someone say a bad word, they owe me $5. We're going to give all the money to Operation Smile."

2. Her on-screen grandma is played by the venerable two-time Oscar winner Dianne Wiest and the two have a happy nest. "Diane has these pet parakeets she brings to set and she lets me visits them in her trailer. Dan Bakkedahl, who plays my dad, I went over to his house so we could go swimming with his kids."

3. She's a totally normal kid who just happens to act on a show she loves. "I go to public school. We just moved to Manhattan Beach. I like to swim. I really like it. We're three blocks from the beach and we walk down there whenever we want. When we did season one, we came to California and we didn't know a lot of people," says Eisenberg.

4. That's where her on-screen mom, Betsy Brandt, stepped in. "Betsy asked if we wanted to go trick or treating with her and her kids. That's really sweet," says Eisenberg.

5. Her TV grandparent, James Brolin, tries to impart his wisdom on Eisenberg. "Jim tries to play cards with me. We never have time to finish the game. He bought a guitar as a special gift after I told him I wanted to learn to play guitar. He's like a real grandpa. He likes to play with me," she says.
