Prince William could become the new face of anti-online trolling as the Duke of Cambridge readies for a potential meeting with Silicon Valley heavyweights Facebook and Apple.

The Prince launched a task force earlier this year -- a move that he said was motivated in part by becoming a father.

The UK's Minister for Internet Safety told the Sunday Times:

In creating the Royal Foundation Taskforce on the Prevention of Cyber Bullying, the Duke of Cambridge has become a powerful advocate for vulnerable young people everywhere who are victims of abuse online.

The taskforce's members read as a who's who in European cyberspace with the heads of Google, Snapchat, Twitter and Facebook on board, as well the man responsible for founding the World Wide Web, Sir Tim Berners Lee.

The group is expected to complete its work, which is said to include making the internet safer for children and making it easier for children to get help if they are experiencing cyber-bullying, by May 2017. At that point, William would like to bring the team's findings to America, recommending Silicon Valley follows suit.

No date has been scheduled for William's California trip and there's been no word on whether or not he will be bringing along the family.
