These are the healthiest items at McDonald's

We all know if you're counting calories, fast food probably isn't the first choice.

But, it's good that fast-food places have all their nutrition information online so you can check them out and make informed decisions about what you're going to get while you're visiting them.

If you're heading to the golden arches of McDonald's here are the healthiest items you can get.

For breakfast, there's the Egg White Delight McMuffin which has 250 calories and 8 grams of fat.

On the opposite end there's the Big Breakfast with Hotcakes and a big biscuit which will set you up with 93 percent of your fat intake on a 2000-calorie diet, impressive.

Salads can be deceivingly unhealthy based on what dressing you use.

Your best bet is to settle in with the Bacon Ranch Grilled Chicken which has 320 calories, just make sure you go grilled chicken and not crispy. Crispy turns it into one of the worst, the same goes with pretty much all of their salads.

Now, McDonald's is a burger joint, right? So which is the best burger?

It's probably obvious but the plain hamburger contains 350 calories and 15 grams of fat. On the scary side the bacon clubhouse crispy chicken sandwich boats 72 percent of your daily sodium intake and the double quarter pounder with cheese has 66 percent of your daily fat intake.

If you want to throw in a little dessert, try the kiddie-size ice cream cone. It's only 45 calories compared to the adult sized.
