Rascal Flatts tells Little Big Town they better watch out at the 2016 CMAs

Look out, Little Big Town -- Rascal Flatts is coming for you!

Both country music groups are nominated for Vocal Group of the Year at the 50th annual CMA Awards in Nashville on Wednesday, but the guys from Rascal Flatts say they're ready to take home the "W."

"It's always great to be nominated, but it's even better to win and we haven't done that in awhile.," Gary Jay DeMarcus joked to AOL.com in a Facebook livestream on Monday. "Congrats Little Big Town, again."

DeMarcus kidded that he takes their rivalry so seriously, he makes sure to give some of the members of Little Big Town a stern glare when they drop their kids off at school. "Our kids go to school together so I give them the stink eye every day."

The whole crew laughed that if they win this year, they're going to give Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, and Phillip Sweet, the "talk to the hand" as they head to the stage. The rivalry is definitely friendly though and despite the jokes the group says they're just grateful to have been doing this for so long.

"A 20-year run would be pretty amazing. It's been 16 years [in the business] and when we hit 20 years, we'll call it quits," JoeDon Rooney said.

But before you get too concerned that the group is hanging up their hats in 4 years -- they said, don't worry -- it was just another joke. Watch the full interview above.
