Nintendo makes new announcement about Switch price

Brace yourselves: More official news about the Nintendo Switch is coming. On January 12, Nintendo will reveal the Switch's price and release date via a press event streamed out of Tokyo.

According to a press release distributed earlier today by Nintendo, "This will be an event for invited media, financial analysts and trade partners in Tokyo that will be globally livestreamed on Jan. 12, U.S. time. The presentation will include the launch date and pricing for Nintendo Switch, as well as a look at the lineup of games currently in development."

Nintendo hasn't revealed what time the stream will occur, but will supply the exact time closer to the date of the presentation via its social media channels.

Media events will also occur in the United States and Europe, though Nintendo hasn't clarified when or where they'll be happening. "Public sampling" events will also happen at a yet-undisclosed time.

All that's left is to push past the holiday rush. May snapping flights of red-and-white angels sing thee to sleep until then.
