A North Carolina woman just proved her husband right -- while winning $1 million.

57-year-old Glenda Blackwell bought a scratch off trying to teach her husband, Buddy, a lesson. She told them the tickets always lose -- but then won $1 million of a $10 ticket.

"I was going to be ugly and buy a scratch off to show him they didn't hit," Blackwell told her local ABC affiliate. "Sometimes I get aggravated with him, so I tell him, 'You're just wasting your money.'"

As it turns out, Blackwell was wrong, but she didn't mind. "I had to eat my words, but they were worth eating," Blackwell laughed. "So, I was very happy."

Blackwell and her husband plan on buying a house with the money, then helping their children and grandchildren. They took the lump sum of the money, which amounted to $415,503 after taxes.
