Miley Cyrus bungles Bill Murray tribute because she 'got too stoned' (Video)

Maybe Miley Cyrus should add the Afroman classic "Because I Got High" to her repertoire.

"Can't Be Tamed" chanteuse Cyrus bungled an attempted tribute to actor Bill Murray, botching the Frank Sinatra classic "My Way" because, as she admitted, "I got too stoned."

Cyrus, decked out in a glittery silver outfit and accompanied by a band that included former "Late Show" music director Paul Shaffer, was warbling her way through the tune at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, at a ceremony to honor Murray with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Her tribute went sideways, however, when she muffed the lyrics and blurted out obscenities from the stage.

"I f—ed it up," Cyrus — who appeared in Murray's Netflix special "A Very Murray Christmas" — admitted, while attempting to make her way through the rest of the tune. "Sorry guys ... I got too stoned."

Luckily for Cyrus, Murray came to the addlepated Cyrus' rescue with a touch of comic relief, telling the crowd, "This is happening right now in Washington D.C., the 51st state in the union."

No wonder they gave him the prize.
