Donald Trump refuses to say if he will accept the result of the election

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump refused to say if he would accept the results of the election if Hillary Clinton wins in November during Wednesday night's final debate.

Trump said he would "look at it at the time" when asked by debate moderator Chris Wallace if he would recognize the results of the election.

Wallace pushed Trump for an answer, saying that the tradition of the peaceful transition between leaders of opposing political parties is one of the key pillars of American democracy.

"I will tell you at the time. I'll keep you in suspense," he said.

The new statement appears to refute a claim made by his daughter Ivanka, who had previously said she was sure her father would accept the outcome of the election.

Trump said the election has been "so dishonest" saying that "if you look at voter rolls, you will millions of people, that are registered to vote that shouldn't be registered to vote."

Trump also insisted repeated that Clinton should not be allowed to be a candidate for office.

"She should never have been allowed to run for the presidency based on what she did with emails," he said.

Clinton pushed back against Trump's refusal to accept the outcome, saying it was "terrifying."

The bold comment at the debate came after a series of claims made by Trump on the campaign trail that the election is rigged and that voter fraud could be a significant problem.
