Cowboys star Ezekiel Elliott on pace to break the rookie rushing record
Eric Dickerson has held the NFL rookie rushing record since his debut season with the Los Angeles Rams in 1983. Well, his mark is in danger, thanks to a rookie from Ohio State named Ezekiel Elliott.

Dickerson ran for 1,808 yards during his rookie campaign. Since Dickerson set the benchmark, Edgerrin James came the closest to dethroning him in 1999, when he rushed for 1,553 yards.

Elliot is on pace for 1,875 yards. In his last four games, Elliott rushed for over 130 yards each time, including 157 yards against the NFL's No. 1 rushing defense, the Green Bay Packers.
He is averaging more yards per rush (5.1) than Dickerson (4.6), and although Elliott is averaging fewer carries per game (22.8) than Dickerson (24.6), Dak Prescott's teammate still averages more yards per game (117.5) than Dickerson (113).
