Shocking number of Americans say presidential election is stressing them out

This election season has been rough and seemingly endless, and now there's scientific evidence to back up what you may have been feeling.

The American Psychological Association included a question in its annual Stress in America survey about this election. They survey found that more than half of U.S. adults, regardless of party affiliation, felt very or somewhat stressed by the election.

What may be even more surprising is that millennials were the most likely to say the election was a somewhat or very significant source of stress.

So how do you cope? Try limiting your media intake and reading just enough to be informed.

Avoid getting into discussions about the election, if you think they have the potential to escalate to conflict.

Channel your concerns to make a positive difference on issues you care about, including volunteering.

And, most importantly, vote!
