Meet the new model giving us Kaia Gerber meets Hailey Baldwin vibes

As we look back on fashion month, the only thing more exciting than fresh clothes are the fresh faces wearing the clothes. Enter Rose Gilroy, 22, who is quickly making a name for herself in the New York modeling scene, conjuring up the feline vibes of Kaia Gerber and Hailey Baldwin and the bohemian spirit of Langley Fox Hemingway. Her first major act: lending her angular features to Ferragamo's fall/winter 2016 campaign, which was styled by La Marque and La Ligne founders Meredith Melling and Valerie Macaulay. To celebrate the collection launching online today, we chatted with Gilroy about her fall must-haves, idols (including her mother, actress Rene Russo), and making it in New York.

GLAMOUR: You're just coming off of your first fashion month, how was all the insanity?

ROSE GILROY: It was exciting to travel to Milan, I'd never been before so I'm glad I got to go with Ferragamo. There was a lot of energy and good vibes all around. There are definitely a lot of different personalities, but I love it because all those people are so talented and are working so hard to put the shows together. It's infectious to be around.

GLAMOUR: See any trends on the runways that caught your eye?

ROSE GILROY: I noticed a lot of shearling outerwear that I actually want to get for fall. For spring, there were lots of floral prints that were really pretty, and tons of velvet. I love it all!

GLAMOUR: And what else are you shopping in the meantime for fall?

ROSE GILROY: I love leather pants because they keep me super warm in the winter, plus I'm too lazy to wear tights. I'm all about being comfortable in winter, so definitely on the hunt for new sweaters. This is also my first winter living in New York City after college, so I can actually dress like someone who lives in the real world.

GLAMOUR: What's the transition in the "real world" of NYC been like for you?

ROSE GILROY: It's definitely a change of pace, all around. The energy of New York really inspires me—every time I step outside, people are always running around, going somewhere, and doing something, so I try to emulate that drive. I came here knowing I had to work really hard for what I want every day. I've learned I have to be on the grind and the decisions I make matter, so I have to take everything very seriously.

GLAMOUR: What have you discovered you love to do here when you're not working?

ROSE GILROY: The biggest thing is just walking around, since you can't really do that in LA. Here, I walk out my door and in 5 minutes I can be at Chelsea Market, one of my favorite places, or Soho to go shopping. I'm still getting to know what life is here, but I know I love dim sum and have explored a lot of places in Chinatown.

GLAMOUR: Are there any icons in the industry you look up to?

ROSE GILROY: Definitely my mom, I look up to her a lot. There are so many people I'd love to work with in the industry, but I've learned it's not just about the people, it's the process. It's about everyone coming together to make one cohesive image. That's what inspires me to be doing this the most.
