Police say husband staged his own kidnapping to party with buddies

A Texas man is accused of going to extreme lengths to hang out with friends outside the house without his wife.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, 34-year-old Rogelio Andaverde allegedly orchestrated his own kidnapping on Tuesday by having two men with guns and masks enter the home and abduct him.

His wife, Maria Hernandez, was present at the time and is said to have called police immediately.

For hours, authorities conducted an intense search for Andaverde who ultimately ended up returning home without injuries on Thursday morning; he reportedly claimed the kidnappers simply let him go.

However, according to the police, during questioning, the man admitted to orchestrating the incident so he could "spend time with his friends and party."

As a Fox News report states, "Andaverde was charged with making a false report to police. He was released on $5,000 bail."
