Bill Clinton suggests Donald Trump's support base is comprised of 'rednecks'

Bill Clinton was in Florida on Tuesday campaigning for his wife and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

While doing so, he managed to infuriate many Trump supporters.

In his address to a Fort Myers rally crowd, the former president, who grew up in Arkansas, said, "The other guy's base is what I grew up in. You know, I'm basically your standard redneck."

Mr. Clinton also mentioned a time during the primaries when he and Hillary were campaigning in West Virginia, a state that showed little promise of going her way.

He recalled telling Hillary, "First of all, [West Virginians] only watch Fox News. But to be fair, they think we only care about our political base and the people that agree with us culturally. And it's not true, but that's what they think."
