It's being built about a mile from Islam's most sacred site, the Masjid Al-Haram.

Over 20,000,000 million people visit Mecca each year with a record number of Muslims visiting the city during Ramadan last year.

The hotel will have 12 towers ranging from 20 to 48 stories, a shopping mall, 70 restaurants and four helipads.

Construction is already underway and will cost $3.5 billion to built. Many project that it won't open until 2018 due to its sheer size.
