Terence Crutcher shooting sparks response from Middletown Police Chief Muterspaw

An Ohio police chief is making waves for publicly voicing his anger over officer-involved shootings.

Rodney Muterspaw took to Twitter with vent his frustrations after video was released showing the fatal police shooting of Terence Crutcher, an unarmed man in Oklahoma.

"As an officer I am so sick and drained of some cops doing things like this," Muterspaw wrote on Twitter. "You are making us all look bad. STOP."

The tweet had been shared more than 9,500 times by 6 a.m. ET on Wednesday.

Muterspaw — a 26-year-veteran of the force in Middletown, Ohio — told his local newspaper that he felt he could not stay silent in wake of the "questionable" Oklahoma shooting.

An incident like that, he told the Journal-News, "sets us back every time and it's hard to get a grip on what we are trying to do."

NBC News was not immediately able to reach Muterspaw for comment.
