Lindsey Vonn is a red-hot siren at Emmy Awards in backless dress

Updated

Olympic skiier Lindsey Vonn hit the 2016 Emmy Awards and she put some of the most well-heeled actresses to shame in her eye-catching burgundy gown with a dangerously low back cutout.

The 31-year-old athlete showed off her extremely athletic back -- check out those delts and lats -- in a Stello gown, which featured a low cutout back that shaped her fit physique. The back of the gown also featured ruching around her bottom, which further accentuated her svelte and pert posterior.

From the front, the dress was just as jaw-dropping with long sleeves, a sexy V-neck that met in the center, ruched detailing at the hips, and a deep middle slit to show off her perfect pins.

While we're not exactly sure how Vonn ended up at the Emmy Awards, we're sure glad she did because she brought us one of the most flawless looks of the evening. In a word, the athlete just took home the gold medal for her hot look.

The burgundy gown actually reminded us of one of our favorite red carpet moments of all time, Hilary Swank's backless midnight-blue Guy Laroche gown at the 2005 Oscars, where she took home a big win. Swank dazzled in the sultry and form-fitting gown with an equally low back and plenty of draping, which showed off her muscles from her role in "Million Dollar Baby." If you're sensing a trend it's because both gals were in tip-top athletic shape for their showy dresses.

It's safe to say both women brought the backless dress game to the next level.
