White House petition is calling Obama to pardon Edward Snowden
Two high-profile U.S. human rights organizations asking President Obama to pardon Edward Snowden.
This comes just days before the premiere of the new 'Snowden' biopic movie, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the NSA whistleblower himself.

Snowden has been living in exile in Russia since he leaked classified information about the NSA's global surveillance systems in 2013.
The organizations supporting him are The American Civil Liberties Union and Amnesty International who launched PardonSnowden.org
The ACLU has is asking for 60,000 signatures on their online petition to "let President Obama know that the American people stand with Snowden."
The ACLU is calling Snowden a "great American who deserves clemency for his patriotic acts."
The Obama administration hasn't shown much leniency for other whistleblowers in the past and has stated Snowden should return to the U.S. and face charges.
But the ACLU says, "If thousands of us join together to deliver our message as one, we have a real chance of bringing him home."
