Jenny Packham Spring 2017 is a collection fit for royalty

Updated

Jenny Packham has done it again. Continually one of our favorite shows to see during New York Fashion Week, she tops our list for several reasons. For one, she's a master of glitz and glamour, and is clearly a go-to among Hollywood and socialites alike when it comes to finding a show-stopping evening gown.

Packham is no stranger to having high-profile fans of her collection, and her designs have been worn by the likes of Blake Lively, Kim Murray and time and again, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Another reason to love her designs is the obvious detail that goes into every single piece. Seeing images of the dresses will never do them justice -- to see (and hear!) them as they walk past you is to know, truly, how intricate they each are. This particular collection had so many looks throughout that stood on their own while also blending into one cohesive unit.

For Spring, Packham says she was inspired by 31 women. Anjelica Huston, Catherine Deneuve, Emily Blunt, Lauren Bacall, Joan Jett and Rooney Mara, just to name a few.

Since we do love her so much, we feel particularly spoiled that the British designer chooses to show in New York, and not her home base, London. Last season we asked Packham why she shows in New York rather than London, and she told us, "we like the attitude here, it's very 'can do' and it's very business-oriented as well, which I like."

She also prefers showing early in the season -- and New York is first, after all.
