Whether you're a cat person or not, you would want this one by your side.

One Reddit user shared his experience of a feline friend guiding him while he was lost in the Swiss Alps. The man, who is originally from Hungary and currently lives in the United States, had sprained his ankle and was having trouble finding the right path back.

He explained the encounter in the comments. He found the cat while exploring the area near his hostel in Gimmelwald, Switzerland. "Then he [the cat] was walking and kept looking at me to follow," he said, "[and] led me straight to the path that would take me back down to the valley."

Gimmelwald, he explained, is a small village in Switzerland. Because he went at the end of ski season, some of the lifts and trails were not operating. The hiker was looking for an alternate route back to his hostel -- because the official one was closed -- when the cat came up to him.

"She (?) noticed me I was eating a snack and resting my sprained ankle, and as soon as I got up she started guiding me along some path," he said.

He also posted video of his adorable guide:

Other visitors have commented that they, too, saw the cat -- and it actually belongs to owners of a local hostel. They are probably proud to know that they're pet has been so helpful to lost tourists.
